Welcome to Our Website

Greetings!

Thank you for visiting the website of the Macon Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. As a chapter, we are committed to “Serving with Passion and Purpose” in Bibb, Jones, Monroe, Twiggs, and Wilkinson counties. We count it an honor and a privilege to serve and support the Middle Georgia community and encourage you to call on us for your Service, Leadership, and Scholarship needs.

The Macon Alumnae Chapter (MAC), an award-winning Red-Ribbon Chapter, has a rich history of service to our local community and a strong commitment to sisterhood since 1958. As a pillar in the community, the Macon Alumnae Chapter continues to provide service and programming which support the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Economic Development
  • Educational Development
  • International Awareness and Involvement
  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Political Awareness and Involvement

If you are already a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and are new to the area or you are looking for a local chapter to call home, we welcome you to joinus at one of our Chapter meetings. The Sororal year runs from September through May and we meet on the 4th Saturday of each month at 11am at Union Baptist Church (1137 Kitchens Street in Macon). We welcome the opportunity to have you share your gifts and talents with us, while fulfilling your lifetime commitment of public service to our beloved Sisterhood.

Since celebrating our 60th year of existence in April 2018, we remain steadfast and committed to continue to promote our heritage as a sisterhood called to serve, “Serving our community with Passion and Purpose.”

Macon Alumnae Chapter (MAC) is comprised of more than 150 dedicated, civic-minded, college-educated women who believe education is to be used for improving the lives of others and for leaving our community and the world better than we have found it. We believe, also, that service is the very purpose of life as we strive to:

  • Mentor our youth and promote scholarship
  • Advocate for important issues
  • Collaborate with like-minded organizations

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has an “Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership & Empowerment” and MAC is both pleased and excited to serve our local community with passion and purpose!

Thank you again for visiting our website and we look forward to serving you as a member of the Middle Georgia community or as a member of our illustrious sisterhood! We invite you to visit our website often for updates and announcements regarding upcoming events.

I am humbled to serve as President of this dynamic Red-Ribbon Chapter.

With a Servant’s Heart,

Joan F. Whitehead
