Teen Focus is a mentoring program hosted by the Macon Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, serving teens incarcerated at the Macon Youth Detention Center. The girls are presented with a variety of topics to help them while incarcerated and with transitioning back into society. Some of the topics include etiquette, resume writing, relationship building, budgeting, and much more. The chapter members exposes the girls to a mentoring network to address major issues confronting 11-21 year-olds, plans and implements positive programming to addressing these unique problems, and encourages the girls to assume responsibility for maintaining their own health practices as well as develop their own unique potential. The Macon Alumnae Chapter serves to create a model climate for success through supporting incarcerated teens.
